And My Favorites So Far

And Just a Few More

Back to My Art

Shortly before we traveled to China to adopt our first little one, I packed up my papers and pens and rubber stamps. I thinned out my supply of collage papers and metal trinkets.

Many times over the next three years, I missed my art. But caring for a toddler again and preparing the paperwork for a second adoption kept me mostly busy.

A year after that, I could finally say I was rested enough to have brain space available to think about art again. So I pulled out my boxes and sorted through the things I had saved. And for even more fun, I bought some new stuff! And I began to join swaps and create again.

I felt rusty for about two days. Now I'm back in deep. And my kitchen will never be the same!

Above I've samples of work I've done during the Summer of 2010.

My Return to Art

I can't believe how long this blog has been left without any new posts. I have been ill and unable to create anything for several weeks. I'm so happy now to have the energy to start thinking about creating and swapping again. I lost about six weeks of my life and my memory. I tried to notify my groups and swaps and I hope I didn't leave anyone hanging.

Anyway, glad to be back. I'm going to upload some of my ATCs.

Altered Composition Books

I made these two journals for a swap. They are regular non-spiral composition books altered with paper and grand ideas. I think they turned out well for my first try. I hope my swap partner will be pleased.

My Office Remodeled

I have been looking longingly at other people's art studios and wishing I had a room for my art. Then it dawned on me that I actually DO have a room, and quite a nice one. So I spent most of a day revamping my office so that I have space for art creation and storage, and a smaller space for shipping my wares.

It took me a couple days to get use to working on art in my office.....but I love it now. This is going to be a great cozy winter......
